Hi Dave,

I did a Google search once on the maker but got very few results. I kind of lost interest and the guitar is still in its case.

Nice to have a solid Brazilian rosewood guitar, though. Congratulations!

Hello Dave
I have spent ages trying to find out about Takumi guitars.
Your fathers guitar is the only reference on the Net'
I have a Brazilian rosewood solid model TC125S. Many people suggest this is exactly the same as the Yamaha Grand Concert Model GC41.I contacted Ivor Mairants but received no reply.
Do you know anything at all about this maker?
Kind regards
Dave

Internet marketing of independent music is easy-just submit everywhere you can. It takes a bit of time but will get you a wider audience.

Your a great guitar player by the way

Hi Kar,

Yes, the OM-28V is a bit special. And your right about the string tension and the scalloped braces.

If you drop me a line at dave@dave-keir.com I will reply with some info which you might find of interest should you decide to buy one.

Cheers!

David,
Thank you for your response.
Just played the OM-28V in a guitar store. It sounds awesome! It has better projection and sounds a lot brighter than the 000-28. Wonder if the tighter string tension on the longer scale has something to do with it (of course there are other factors like the bracing). Anyhow, I am leaning toward the OM-28V now.... :-)
Cheers,
Kar

Hi Kar,

I no longer have the OOO-28. The only reason I sold was because I was getting so used to the longer scale and wider nut on an OM-18V which felt a lot different to play and my fingers were getting confused! (I used the funds to buy my OM-28V!)

The OOO-28 is an excellent guitar and I was sorry to have to let it go. I'm sure you will be very happy with it if you decide to get it. You might find it a little "quiet" when brand new - play it often and you will find it will blossom and improve month after month and year after year as it "opens-up".

Good luck!

Hi David,
I love the way you described your 000-28 and am thinking about getting one for my birthday. Do you still feel the same way about this guiatr after owning it for 6 years (assuming you still have it)?
Cheers,
Kar
