About The Pearldivers:
Jet is from Sydney but is currently living in Asia. He regards himself primarily as a “melodist” and his songs feature strong hooks, images and motifs. Apart from singing, Jet plays guitar (specializing in lap steel and slide) as well as bass and keyboards. He also programmes drums although he tries to collaborate with real session players whenever possible. His music is put together at Blue Buddha Sound, a private studio in Hong Kong. Jet’s first CD release was Shimmer (2005), a compilation of new and old songs from his 35-year writing career. The Box of Beautiful Things , featuring an array of guest artists from around the world, was released in 2006.

Reviewer: Ian Rushton
“Box” is a natural and worthy follow-up, picking up where The Pearldivers debut release Shimmer left off. Introspective, with an excellent assortment of instrumentation providing a fine clothing of sounds to wear by night and day. Jet Crawford’s songs, arrangements and musicianship, helped along this time by some other excellent musicians, delivers what is sometimes a very moody, intense and deeply melancholic listen. AND there is of course some lighter moments too! I suspect not just any singer could pull these songs off with the security and truthful beauty that Jet achieves. If you enjoy well-crafted songs that are at times catchy, other times thought-provoking, with memorable melodies and themes, then I strongly recommend you get your hands on this album.
